Bilateral battalion tactical exercise completed in Taman motorised rifle division
Two units of the Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the Western Military District, reinforced by a Msta-S self-propelled howitzer artillery battalion and a tank company on T-72B-3 tanks, took part in a bilateral battalion tactical exercise at the training ground in the Moscow Region.
The main objective of the event was to improve officers' command skills, as well as to refine interaction between motorized rifle, artillery and tank units. The exercise was conducted according to a bilateral scenario, when units alternately act as a mock adversary.
To create a combat situation during the event, a large number of explosives and imitation tools was used. The drills involved some 1,000 troops, up to 200 pieces of armaments and military hardware.
