At the district stage of the competition "Masters of Artillery Fire-2020", the best mortar crews of the Southern Military District were determined
The district stage of the competition "Masters of Artillery Fire-2020" among mortar crews and platoons has ended at the Rostov region training ground of the Southern Military District.
8 best mortar crews consisting of 150 people representing combined-arms formations of SMD from the Crimea, North Ossetia, Stavropol territory and Rostov region fought for the right to participate in all-army competitions.
In compliance with the requirements to prevent the spread of viral infections, the competition of the district stage of the Army International Games-2020 was held in the online control mode via videoconferencing.
With the help of statically installed video cameras and continuously circling unmanned aerial vehicles, the video signal was transmitted to the jury members directly from the performance sites of the teams from their permanent locations.
For this purpose, signals specialists of SMD used the latest equipment from the mobile video broadcasting complex, as well as the satellite communication station "Auriga". Video from the competition was continuously broadcast on dedicated communication channels.
Under the terms of the competition, the crews hit targets at the distances of up to 2 kilometers with three mines from a 120-mm 2B12 "Sani" mortar. Only map, compass, binoculars and a radio station were available for servicemen for communication and navigation.
In addition, military personnel as part of crews and platoons competed in shooting from grenade launchers, small arms, as well as in driving vehicles on the road with obstacles with a total length of about 5 km.
According to the results of the competition, the winners were the mortar crews of the 150 motorized rifle division and the army corps of the Black Sea Fleet.
Currently, the team of the best gunners has started training for the all-army stage of the competition "Masters of Artillery Fire" at the training ground in the Rostov region.
