Russian scouts destroyed sabotage groups of the mock enemy during an exercise in Tajikistan
During an army exercise in Tajikistan, the Russian scout units of the 201st Military base destroyed the sabotage groups of the mock enemy, which attempted to infiltrate Russian military facilities.
The personnel were put on the alert and transported by the Mi-8 helicopters to the designated objective area early in the morning. The army aviation crews conducted air reconnaissance en route and located the enemy. Having found the proper landing site the scouts conducted assault landing and secretly moved out to the area of operation.
Having conducted reconnaissance and search operations they caught the enemy off-guard and destroyed him with all types of weapons. The crews of the Mi-24 helicopter gunships provided fire support from the air. All actions of the scout groups were coordinated according to the information received from the UAVs that were part of the ground phase of the exercise.
Approximately 500 servicemen were involved in the two-day exercise, which took place at the Lohur training ground.
The 201st Military Base deployed in Tajikistan is Russia's largest military facility outside its borders. It is located in two cities - Dushanbe and Bokhtar. According to the agreement signed in October 2012, the base shall station in Tajikistan until 2042.
