A joint exercise with tank and electronic warfare units of the Central Military District has ended in Siberia
Military personnel of tank units during a joint exercise with electronic warfare units of the Central Military District (CMD) worked out the destruction of attack unmanned aerial vehicles of a mock enemy in the Kemerovo region.
According to the plan of the exercise, the crews of T-72B3 tanks marching to the designated area were attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles in shock equipment.
The soldiers, visually determined the direction of the attack of the drones and immediately opened fire from tank heavy machine guns at moving targets, repelling the attack. After that, the tank crews regrouped and moved to the reserve area.
Support for the tankers was provided by crews of electronic warfare systems "Zhitel". The military personnel worked out the tasks of detecting and forcibly landing drones at a safe distance from the column of military equipment.
The exercise, which took place today, involved more than 500 soldiers of a motorized rifle unit, and more than 50 units of military and special equipment.
Earlier, the commander of the CMD Colonel-General Alexander Lapin said that in October, as part of the control inspection of the troops for the summer training will be held over 10 major military exercises with the participation of formations and military units of the CMD on the grounds in Bashkortostan, Udmurtia, Tuva, and also the Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Samara, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions.
The 41st CAA of the Central Military District is stationed on the territory of the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo regions, the Altai territory and the Republic of Tuva. It consists of motorized rifle, artillery units, air defense, signals, NBC protection troops.
