More than 10 crews of ships of the Caspian Flotilla repelled a massive air strike of a mock enemy
The Caspian Flotilla with the air defence forces on duty conducted an exercise to detect unidentified air targets and repel air strikes of a mock enemy.
The event involved crews of more than 10 surface ships and boats of the flotilla, including the missile ships "Tatarstan" and "Dagestan", small rocket and artillery ships "Grad Sviyazhsk", "Uglich", "Volgodonsk", "Makhachkala" and "Astrakhan".
According to the plan of the exercise, the mass approach of the mock enemy aircraft was detected by means of radio surveillance. The ships were put in readiness for the use of air defense systems, combat crews began receiving and analyzing data on the air situation.
Air targets were conditionally destroyed from anti-aircraft missile and artillery systems "Palash" and "Palma", as well as artillery installations AK-630 and AK 630-M2 "Duet".
In addition, the duty shift of the control center of the Caspian Flotilla worked out ways to repel attacks of small-sized unmanned aerial vehicles.
