Biography

Vice Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, the Hero of the Russian Federation, was born on April 16, 1962 in Borskoye settlement, Gvardeysky district, Kaliningrad region.

He graduated from the Naval Radioelectronics Institute named after Popov, A.S., in 1987 (St/ Petersburg).

For more than 29 years he served on nuclear-powered submarines, the Northern Flee, beginning from an engineer of a group to Submarine Force Commander.

He completed his service at the Northern Fleet as a Chief of Staff – Deputy Commander of the Northern Fleet.

In November 2017 he took office of the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

He graduated with honours from the Naval Academy named after Kuznetsov, N.G., in 2003.

In 2011, Alexander Moiseyev graduated from the Military Academy of the Russian General Staff with first class honours with a mark of distinction.

May 3, 2019, Vice Admiral Alexander Moiseyev has been appointed the Commander of the Nothern Fleet by a Presidential Decree.

By the February 14, 2011 Presidential Decree, captain 1st rank Alexander Moiseyev was honoured with a title of the Hero of the Russian Federation and a mark of special distinction - the Gold Star medal.

He was awarded two Orders of Courage, the Order "For Military Merits", the 2nd degree Medal "For Services to the Fatherland", departmental orders and medals.
