Small ASW ships of Pacific Fleet eliminate air targets with MANPADSs on Kamchatka
While working out the sea elements of the standard task complex K-2 (assigned single ship operation at sea), small ASW ships of a formation of water area protection of the North-Eastern Russian Troops and Forces conducted an exercise to repel the simulated enemy’s air attacks.
The small ASW ships MPK-107 and MPK-82, in cooperation with Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft of the PF Naval Aviation, improved their air defence organisation while sailing at sea. During the exercise, Igla MANPADS nonorganic teams repelled the air attack successfully hitting the simulated air targets with missiles.
The crews of the said small ASW ships also performed drills in search and rescue at sea, as well as in damage control.
