Northern Fleet Commander meets Vietnam People's Navy delegation
The commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergei Avakyants, met with officers of Vietnam People's Navy in Vladivostok. In the Officers' House in Vladivostok, Admiral Sergey Avakyants received the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Fourth Naval Area of Vietnam Navy, Nguyen Van Egan, commander of the frigate Quang Chung, Hong Anya, and their accompanying officers.
The commander of the Pacific Fleet welcomed the guests in Vladivostok and noted that the first visit of the Vietnamese warship to the capital of Primorye and its participation in celebrating the Navy Day is historic because it translates the long-standing friendly relations of Russian and Vietnamese sailors into practical interaction and allows them to develop cooperation. All this, according to Admiral Sergei Avakyants, will undoubtedly strengthen not only bilateral Russian-Vietnamese relations, but also serve the cause of strengthening security in the Pacific Rim.
At the end of the meeting, the Russian and Vietnamese sailors exchanged souvenirs and held a joint photograph.
The installation of the frigate Quang Chung in the parade line is scheduled for July 27. The visit of the Vietnamese ship to Vladivostok will end on July 29.
