Northern Fleet auxiliary vessels call at Cape Verde
Rescue tug "SB-406" and the medium sea tanker "Vyazma", accompanying the missile cruiser "Marshal Ustinov" in a long campaign, completed a business call to the port of Praia and went to the Atlantic ocean.
The business call of the Northern Fleet auxiliary vessel lasted three days. During this time, the crews of the tanker and the tug rested on the shore and replenished fuel reserves to the established norms. Next week, the vessels will meet with the missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov and conduct a liquid cargo transfer exercise with it.
The tanker "Vyazma" and the rescue tug "SB-406" left their bases in early July. They accompanied a detachment of warships of the Northern Fleet led by the missile cruiser "Marshal Ustinov" to the Main naval parade in St. Petersburg, and then together with the warships took part in the exercise of the Russian Navy "Ocean shield-2019".
Within two months, the auxiliary vessel operated in the Mediterranean sea, where they provided a number of long-range activities of the "Marshal Ustinov", as well as conducted several exercises on the transfer of liquid cargo on the move and while parked.
During the actions in the Mediterranean sea, the rescue tug "SB-406" and medium sea tanker "Vyazma" made several business calls to Cyprus and Greece. Since leaving the base, they has covered about 22,000 nautical miles.
