Caspian Flotilla Marines sum up results of training year
On December 1, 2018, a marine regiment was created in the Caspian flotilla. Marines approached their first anniversary with excellent performance in combat training.
At a series of episodes of the Tsentr 2019 exercise held in Dagestan, servicemen solved problems on land, at sea and in the sky.
Together with the Navy, the marine regiment practiced the landing of a tactical airborne assault on an unequipped coast, and received tactical airborne troops on the bridgehead.
The exercise involve more than 2,500 servicemen, 15 ships and support vessels of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as aircraft and helicopters of the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defence.
In particular, as part of the airborne training, servicemen performed more than 2,000 parachute jumps, including on limited landing sites in the mountains and on the water surface.
