Pacific Fleet rescue ship Igor Belousov sails from Vladivostok for participation in Russian-Vietnamese exercise
Today, the Pacific Fleet rescue ship Igor Belousov left Vladivostok and set about fulfilling long-distance navigation tasks. In accordance with the Plan of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation for 2019, the ship will take part in a joint Russian-Vietnamese exercise to assist the crew of an emergency submarine lying on the ground. The exercise will be held in December of this year in the waters of the South China Sea.
On board the modern ship is Bester 1 deep-towed vehicle AS-40 which will be involved in the exercise. A group of specialists from the Pacific Fleet’s search and rescue operations centre is also involved in the joint training.
