The Black Sea Fleet search and rescue forces held an exercise at the Novorossiysk naval base
The Black Sea Fleet search and rescue forces (BSF) conducted a training exercise at the Novorossiysk naval base to assist an emergency vessel in distress in the Black sea.
According to the plan of the exercises, the Novorossiysk naval base staff control center have received a signal about the emergency on the civilian vessel, which was damaged in storm conditions and the mooring lines were broken at the parking pier, the ship was carried away in the high seas.
The duty forces of the search and rescue unit of the Novorossiysk naval base were sent to assist the ship in distress, the role of which was performed by one of the tugs of the naval base.
During the exercise, the Navy rescuers took an emergency vessel in tow, landed an emergency rescue group on it, which localized the conditional intake of seawater, after which the object was towed to the place of regular parking.
The exercise was conducted in accordance with the combat training plan of the Novorossiysk naval base of the Black Sea Fleet.
In total, 5 vessels of the Novorossiysk naval base were involved in the exercise, including the rescue tugboat "Professor Nikolai Muru".
