Russian and Iranian sailors held a joint sea search and rescue exercise during the maneuvers "Kavkaz-2020"
As part of the maneuvers "Kavkaz-2020", a detachment of emergency rescue vessels of the Caspian flotilla and ships of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran performed joint actions to assist a surface ship that was conditionally damaged in combat, search and rescue of the crew in the water.
The exercise was attended by the rescue tug ship SB-738, the raid diving boats of the project 23040 RVC-946 and RVC-933, and the Iranian Navy's "Paykan" missile ship acted as an emergency object.
According to the plan of the exercise, the "Paykan" missile ship was attacked by the air forces of a mock enemy, resulting in a fire on the deck and in the interior. A detachment of rescue vessels of the Caspian flotilla came out to help him.
The tug SB-738 made an approach to the emergency ship, made water supply from the carriage barrels to the upper deck. An emergency rescue group was landed on board, which eliminated the fire source.
Also during the exercise, rescuers worked out the task of searching and rescuing personnel from the sunken ship with first aid to the victims.
At the end of the exercise, the crews of Russian and Iranian ships worked out the elements and procedure for towing an emergency vessel.
The maneuvers "Kavkaz-2020" is being supervised by the Chief of the General Staff – First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation from September 21 to 26, 2020 at the internal ranges of the Southern Military District – ground aviation ranges Arzgirsky and Kopanskaya, as well as in the waters of the Black and Caspian seas.
