The Black Sea Fleet for the first time held joint shooting of Russian and Egyptian snipers as part of the Bridge of friendship 2020 exercise
For the first time, the Black Sea Fleet hosted joint firing by snipers of the naval forces of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Russian Navy as part of the coastal phase of the Bridge of Friendship 2020 exercise.
The event was held in Novorossiysk at the Raevsky combat training ground.
As part of the exchange of experience, the military personnel of the Black Sea Fleet special unit conducted a practical training session with the Egyptian navy special forces to perform shooting with Russian sniper weapons, including Dragunov SVD-S and SVD-M sniper rifles.
Shooting was conducted at fixed targets that imitate the enemy's manpower, at distances from 200, 300 and 700 meters.
Military personnel of both countries worked out the exercise "sniper duel". During this exercise, a pair of snipers consisting of a Russian and an Egyptian shooter, on command, must take a position on the battle line and hit their target at speed, completing the exercise faster than the opponent. The lesson was complicated by simulating explosions and smoke screens to bring the situation at the exercise as close as possible to combat.
The Russian-Egyptian exercise Bridge of Friendship 2020 is being held for the first time in the Black Sea. During the maneuvers of ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy and the Egyptian Navy, it is planned to practice all types of protection and defence of ships with the execution of firing at surface and air targets. Private exercises will be held to organize resupply at sea by traverse, to practice screening operations against suspicious ships, and to help a ship in distress to find and rescue a drowning man.
The ships are scheduled to go to sea on November 21. The exercise Bridge of Friendship 24 will last until November 24.
