Small anti-submarine ship Brest of the Northern Fleet hit aerial targets during exercise in the Barents Sea

The crew of the small anti-submarine ship Brest of the Kola flotilla of diverse forces of the Northern Fleet completed combat training missions to repel air attack weapons of a mock enemy during planned combat training activities at fleet ranges in the Barents Sea.

According to the conditions of the exercise, a single ship had to repel the air raid of a mock enemy and destroy a small air target heading for the ship.

The crew of the small anti-submarine ship fired at simulated air targets with the Osa-MA anti-aircraft missile system, as well as with AK-176 artillery mounts and rapid-fire 30-mm AK-630 artillery assault rifles.

According to the preliminary results of the exercise, the air targets were successfully hit.

88%In addition to participation in the air defence training, the crew of the ship Brest practised maneuvering tactics to repel air attack and tracking air targets.

The SAS Brest is armed with anti-aircraft artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M, jet bomb launchers RBU-6000 and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems. It is designed to search for and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone.
