The crew of the newest LLS "Pyotr Morgunov" performed artillery firing at sea as part of the final stage of tests
As part of the final stage of factory sea tests, the crew of the newest large landing ship (LLS) "Peter Morgunov" together with representatives of the industry performed artillery fire on air and sea surface targets in the sea ranges of the Baltic fleet.
At the previous stage of testing, aircraft and helicopters of the Baltic Sea Fleet flew over the LLS, simulating the actions of a mock enemy air attack at various speeds, altitudes and distances, to check the ship's radio equipment, radar stations and air defense systems. Ka-27 helicopters and Su-30SM, Su-27 and Su-24 aircraft were used for this purpose.
Testing of new equipment for the Russian Navy takes place in the Baltic sea training grounds on a permanent basis. Ships, support vessels, rescue forces and navy aviation of the Baltic fleet are involved in providing these measures.
