Biography

Born on 15 May 1966 in Kishinev in Moldavian SSR, Russian.

1988: graduated with distinction from the Engineer Department of Zhitomir Higher Military School of Radioelectronics of the Air Defence.

1998: graduated from the Air Defence Military Academy

2006: graduated from the Higher Courses of The General Staff Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Served in Space Missile Defence Forces, in the Directorate of Main Command of the Territorial Air Defence Forces.

From 1998: senior officer, chief of group, deputy chief of the Department for Cooperation with Russian and Foreign Media of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defence Press Service.

From 2003: chief of the Press Service – assistant Commander of North Caucasian Military District for Public and Media Affairs.

From 2005 – chief of the Press Service of the Army – assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Army for Public and Media Affairs.

From 2009 – deputy chief of Department of Media Affairs and Information of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defence.

August 2011: appointed Chief of Department of Media Affairs and Information of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defence by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

He headed units for Informational Support of Joint Group Troops (Forces) in North Caucasus and Collective Force for Peacekeeping in Georgia-Abkhazia conflict zone.

He awarded three orders (Order of Courage, Order of Military Merit, Order of Friendship) and 14 medals.
