


Andrei Belousov
Minister of Defence of the Russian FederationBiography
Born on 17 March 1959 in Moscow.
In 1981, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov with distinction.
From 1981 to 1986, A.Belousov trainee researcher, junior research assistant of the human-machine systems laboratories of the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
From 1986 to 2006, he was junior research assistant, research assistant, senior research assistant, head of the laboratory of the Institute of Economics and Forecasting of Scientific and Technological Progress of the USSR Academy of Sciences/Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
From 2000 to 2006, he was General Director of the Centre for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting.
From 2000 to 2006, he served as external advisor to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
From 2006 to 2008, he was Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
From 2008 to 2012, A. Belousov was Director of the Department of Economics and Finance of the Government of the Russian Federation.
From 2012 to 2013, he was Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
From 2013 to 2020, he served as Aide to the President of the Russian Federation.
From 2020 to 2024, he was First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
By the Presidential Decree, he has been appointed Defence Minister of the Russian Federation.
