Relationships between Russia and Iran constitute an important factor of international security
“Development of constructive relations between Russia and Iran constitute an important factor of international security and regional stability,” stated the Russian Minister of Defence General of the Army Sergei Shoigu during the meeting with his Iranian colleague Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan within the IV Moscow Conference on International Security.
The Head of the Russian military department said that he “highly appreciates the contacts with Iran which have become traditional”.
“We encourage strive of the Iranian leaders to comprehensive extension of contacts with Russia inclusive those in the defense sphere,” underlined Sergei Shoigu.
He also stated “that in Russia we positively look at breakthrough solutions on Iranian nuclear program taken in March in Lausanne”.
In his turn Hossein Dehghan stated that after listening to the Russian Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff he understood that “the Russian leaders have clear understanding of necessity to build new world order that will be wider than that one which is forced upon the world now”.
“This new order has to be based on cooperation with equal rights of all the countries considering their independence and national sovereignty,” highlighted the Iranian Minister.
