In the course of the last 24 hours, aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces have performed 82 combat sorties engaging 204 terrorist objects in the Syrian Arab Republic in the Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, Hama and Homs provinces.
32 combat sorties were carried out by the Russian aircraft at night.
As the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, for the last week the intensiveness of strikes on terrorist infrastructures has been considerably increased all over Syria.
Massive missile and aviation strike with precision weapons was made on the most important objects of terrorist groupings.
Sea-based cruise missiles Kalibr and precision airbombs KAB-500 were used.
The precision weapons were used against the most important terrorist objects.
For the first time, the Rostov-on-Don submarine performed a multiple launch of sea-based cruise missiles Kalibr from underwater position in the Mediterranean Sea.
This is not the first successful usage of the sea-based cruise missiles Kalibr. Earlier they had been used twice for engagement of terrorist facilities in Syria from surface warships of the Caspian flotilla.
The particularity of their last usage was the multiple launch from underwater position through torpedo launchers.
Objective monitoring data confirmed once again the high effectiveness of this missile complex.
All targets were hit with the highest accuracy.
It is to be reminded that the range of the Kalibr cruise missiles constitutes about 2,000 km.
The missile has low radar signature reached by following the terrain at extra-low altitudes that renders it nearly invisible for all types of air defence.
The accuracy of target engagement even at a large distance constitutes several meters. Taking into consideration that the combat payload is 500 kg, the target is destroyed for sure.
The missile may be fitted with special warhead, i.e. the nuclear one.
It is to be reminded that in November along with Kalibr missiles the newest air-based cruise missiles Kh-101 were also used by strategic aviation aircraft. These precision weapons are capable of guaranteed destruction of targets at the distances of up to 4,500 km.
They are also practically invisible for all kinds of air defence systems and may be fitted with conventional and nuclear warheads. The accuracy of these missiles constitutes not more than several meters.
It is to be mentioned one more time that the Russian Defence Ministry has been presenting the objective monitoring data of combat missions including target engagement during the whole operation in Syria.
The Defence Ministry has been doing it in a regular manner unlike the colleagues from the anti-ISIS coalition, who are just discussing upon their success, covering facts and particularities.
Certainly, this is their choice.
However, the Russian Defence Ministry is indignant at their approaches when they use this kind of behavior in assessing results of air missions carried out by the Russian air group in Syria.
It is obvious to the world public “who is who” in the fight against the international terrorism.
The more powerful and accurate our strikes are, the more deeply the colleagues criticizing the Russian operations in Syria in order to distract the public in different ways.
There are a couple of examples.
Last week, there appeared information concerning alleged deployment of a new Russian airbase near Shayrat settlement.
One does not need to be an expert to understand that it takes any Russian aircraft 30-40 minutes to get to any point in the territory of Syria.
That is why there is no operational necessity to deploy any additional Russian “airbases” on the territory of Syria as it has been taken into head by “armchair strategists”.
In addition, the messages quoting anonymous sources in the Pentagon concerning the alleged involvement of the Russian warplanes in strikes on the positions of the Syrian governmental troops near Deir ez-Zor on December 6 must be commented on.
First of all – the facts.
According to the General Staff of the Syrian Army, on December 6, 2015, from 19:40, for 15 minutes, aviation of the Western coalition was making an airstrike on a field camp of the 168th Brigade of the 7th Division of the governmental troops of the Syrian Armed Forces located 2 km to the west of Deir ez-Zor.
4 people were killed, 12 were injured.
All the Russian flights in the sky of Syria are accorded with the Air Traffic Control bodies and the General Staff of the Syrian governmental troops.
There were no Russian aircraft over that area.
It is a well-known fact for the US representatives.
Moreover, in accordance to the signed Memorandum, the Russian Defence Ministry informs the US AF representatives about time, altitudes and routes of the Russian aviation group in Syria in a timely manner.
The Pentagon officials stated that the US AF had been really performing operations over that area on December 6. However, they carried out strikes on the target, which had been located 55 kilometres far from the object.
That is true. But partly.
In the sky over Deir-ez-Zor, there were two pairs of combat aircraft from two anti-ISIS coalition member-countries.
If the Americans were out of it, why do the Pentagon representatives as the anti-ISIS coalition leaders are keeping silent about the presence of their allies’ aircraft near Deir-ez-Zor on December 6?
Is not it because the coalition aviation receives all the information concerning the ISIS targets in Syria from the Pentagon?
Moreover, the mistaken coalition’s air strikes take more and more Syrian lives.
According to the human rights advocates from the “Syrian Human Rights Council”, just the other day dozens of civilians have been killed by the coalition’s strike against the Al-Han village.
Maybe it is the high time for our partners from the so-called “coalition” revealed their cards?
From the very beginning of the operation, the Russian Defence Ministry has repeatedly offered the Americans to organize an information exchange on the terrorist positions in Syria.
The upshot is, as we say in Russia, “great cry and little wool”.
