AD missile regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces was put into combat duty in Moscow region
Today, an air defence missile regiment of the Aerospace Forces, which is armed with S-400 Triumph newest missile systems, has been put into combat duty in Moscow region.
New regiment complex of S-400 was transported to the Moscow region from Kapustin Yar range (Astrakhan region) after having performed combat firing trials.
Four Aerospace Forces AD regiments armed with S-400 Triumph systems have been put into service in the Moscow region in order to provide air defence of Moscow and the Central industrial region.
Another S-400 complex is to be received by Aerospace Forces in the course of the rearmament programme by the end of 2016.
Air defence and covering of objects of the highest state and military leadership control, industrial and energy plants, groupings of the Russian Armed Forces and transport communications from the enemy’s aerospace attack is the main task of such regiments.
