Russian Defenсe Minister General of Army Sergei Shoigu arrives in Uzbekistan to session of CIS Council of Defenсe Ministers
Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu arrived in Tashkent to take part in a session of the CIS Council of Defence Ministers.
On 12 October, General of the Army Sergey Shoigu will chair the session. The event will be attended by delegations of the military departments from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The session is to consider a range of issues of multilateral cooperation in defence and security. It is planned to summarise joint activity and coordinate it for the next year, including those events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The attendees will exchange views on the situation in the Central Asia and the priorities in fighting against international terrorism.
It is also planned to take decisions on cooperation in the field of providing aircraft flight operations, information system of the armed forces of the CIS member states, as well as developing the Joint system for monitoring and evaluating radiation, chemical and biological situation of the CIS member states’ Defence Ministries, military education and others.
