Legendary T-34 tanks arrive in Novosibirsk
Ceremonial events on the meeting of 30 tanks, transferred by Laos to Russia, were held at the Novosibirsk-Glavny railway station. The train stood at the station for more than four hours, during which the residents and guests of Novosibirsk were able to look at the equipment of the Great Patriotic War.
Major General Yakov Rezantsev, commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District, representatives of Novosibirsk authorities, veterans, servicemen of the Novosibirsk garrison, soldiers and guests took part in the meeting.
The Ministry of Defence of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic transferred thirty T-34 tanks to the Russian Military Department. Until recently, armored vehicles were in service with the army of Laos. The equipment transferred by the Lao side is planned to be used during the Victory Parades in various cities of Russia, for updating museum exhibits, as well as for filming historical films about the Great Patriotic War.
