Within Grom 2019 strategic command post exercise, training with strategic deterrence forces is held
Today, in the framework of Grom 2019 command post exercise, a training was held with the forces and means of the ground, sea and aviation component of the strategic deterrence forces.
During the training, practical launches of ballistic and cruise missiles took place.
From the waters of the Barents and Okhotsk seas, strategic missile submarines of the Northern and Pacific fleets launched ballistic missiles at the Kura training grounds in Kamchatka and Chizh in the Arkhangelsk region. At the same time, surface ships of the Northern Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla launched Caliber high-precision cruise missiles from the Barents and Caspian seas on targets on the shore.
Crews of the Yars mobile ground missile systems from the Plesetsk State Testing Cosmodrome launched an intercontinental ballistic missile at the Kura training ground in Kamchatka, and crews of Iskander operational tactical missile complex launched of cruise missiles at the training grounds of the Southern and Eastern Military Districts.
The Tu-95MS long-range aircraft were involved in the exercise, which carried out practical launches of air-based cruise missiles at targets at the Pemboy training grounds in the Komi Republic and Kura in Kamchatka.
The practical launch of cruise and ballistic missiles was controlled from the National Centre for State Defence Control.
During the events, the level of preparedness of the military command and control units, and the skills of the leadership and officers in organizing command and control of subordinate troops (forces) were checked.
The tasks envisaged during the training of the strategic deterrence forces were completed in full, all missiles reached their targets, confirming the specified characteristics.
