The withdrawal of armed units from the security zone in North-East of Syria completed ahead of schedule
The withdrawal of armed Kurdish units from the security zone in northeast Syria in accordance with the Sochi accords was completed ahead of schedule, said Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
“The Syrian border guards and our military police went there”, - the head of the Russian military department said in talks with his Armenian counterpart David Tonoyan.
Sergei Shoigu emphasized that Russia and Armenia have accumulated "vast experience in the fight against international terrorism".
He noted the active accumulation of experience that officers of the two countries are gaining in Syria in terms of humanitarian assistance, through mine clearance.
“This is quite active. More than 100 square kilometers have been cleared, a large number of different explosive objects have been cleared - from mines and shells to ammunition of multiple launch rocket systems. Doctors also get enormous experience in conducting operations, providing medical care to the population that has suffered over the years”, - said Sergei Shoigu.
