Pacific Fleet nuclear submarine Kuzbass conducts training torpedo attack of mock enemy submarine
The crew of the Pacific Fleet’s nuclear submarine Kuzbass practiced the search and tracking of a mock enemy submarine, as well as launching a torpedo attack.
The mock enemy role in the exercise was assigned to nuclear-powered submarine Omsk.
The Kuzbass nuclear submarine carried out a set of camouflage measures, found a submarine that designated the forces of the enemy and from a vantage point, attacked it with torpedo weapons, then carried out post-salvage maneuvers from a retaliatory torpedo attack, and secretly left the area. During this episode, the algorithm for the actions of the submarine crew when launching the attack, with the exception of the actual torpedo salvo, was fully practiced.
In turn, nuclear-powered submarine Omsk conducted a maneuver of dodging torpedoes.
