Russian military specialists in Italy have disinfected 44 buildings in Italy and begun receive patients in field hospital
Russian military doctors, together with Italian colleagues, began round-the-clock duty for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection in a field hospital in Bergamo International teams include anesthetists, general practitioners, epidemiologists, and nurses.
In addition to medical specialists, Russian translators are on duty in each team to help Russian doctors communicate with patients and Italian colleagues. Currently, there are 10 patients with coronavirus infection in the hospital and patients continue to arrive. The first 4 patients were received by Russian specialists and continue their treatment.
Eight medical teams are involved on the Russian side, who receive and treat patients in all intensive care units and departments for the treatment of mild and moderate patients.
In total, 32 Russian military doctors and nurses were involved in the treatment of patients in the field hospital. The duty of medical and nursing teams is organized around the clock in 3 shifts. The hospital has 142 beds.
In addition, Russian military specialists carried out disinfection in homes for the elderly in four settlements of Lombardy in the cities of Seriate, Covo, Fontanella, and Martinengo.
In total, Russian military doctors-epidemiologists and specialists of NBC protection troops of Russian Defence Ministry, together with Italian military specialists, carried out a complete disinfection of boarding houses for the elderly in 40 localities in Lombardy. 44 buildings and structures were processed, more than 260,000 square meters of internal premises, more than 22,000 square meters of paved roads.
