Russian servicemen complete tasks to assist Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in combating the spread of COVID-19
Combined team of NBC protection troops specialists of the Russian Ministry of Defence has completed an operation to assist the Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in combating the spread of new coronavirus infection.
Russian servicemen successfully coped with all the tasks assigned to them, which was announced by the country's president Zhelka Tsveyanovich at the awarding ceremony of Russian specialists. President awarded the commander of the Russian team, Colonel Maxim Sologubov, a medal for services to the people of the Republika Srpska.
Russian military specialists carried out a disinfection in Serbia at 28 sites in 11 settlements, including Banja Luka, Priedor, Doboi, Bielina, Zvornik, East Sarajevo, Foca, Trebinje, Gradiska and Nevisina.
Including processed about 50 buildings and structures with a total area of more than 200,000 square meters, sections of paved roads with a total area of about 20,000 square meters.
Russian medics gave recommendations and assisted in the treatment of patients in more than 20 medical centres.
On April 9, 2020, on behalf of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the Minister of Defence, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, gave instructions on the prompt delivery of assistance to the Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection.
24 servicemen and five picecs of military and special equipment were delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina by IL-76 aircraft of the Russian military transport aviation.
Assistance in combating the spread of coronavirus infection was provided in accordance with the appeal of the leadership of the Republika Srpska.
