Sakhalin hosted a parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory In the Great Patriotic war
Today in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, on the main square of the city, a military parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war took place.
The parade column was led by a team of officers from the command of the army corps, followed by flag bearers with the standards of the fronts and a company of infantry in military uniforms of the Great Patriotic war. In addition, the parade was attended by teams of officers, sergeants, soldiers of formations and military units, female military personnel, as well as students of the cadet corps, participants of the all-Russian movement "Yunarmiya" and representatives of other security agencies.
As part of a mechanized column, multiple launch rocket systems "Hurricane", "Smerch", and "Grad" combat vehicles based on the "Ural" truck passed through the main square of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. For the first time, the mechanized column included S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and the latest radio communication complex based on the "Tiger" armored car. The last vehicle in the column was the legendary Soviet BM-13 rocket artillery combat vehicle, popularly known as "Katyusha".
In addition, during the festive events, 11 pieces of equipment were presented for static display on Lenin square.
In total, more than 900 people and 32 units of combat and special equipment participated in the main military parade in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war.
The parade was hosted by the commander of the army corps, Lieutenant General Dmitry Glushenkov.
At 23 hours local time, the artillery units will give a festive salute.
