The measures for sudden inspection of combat readiness In the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been completed
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have completed the measures of the sudden combat readiness check, which was carried out in the period from 17 to 21 July 2020 in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The troops and forces of the Southern Military District, part of the military administration bodies and troops of the Western Military District, formations of the airborne troops, as well as formations and military units of the marine corps of the Navy are returned to the points of permanent deployment.
As part of the inspection, a set of measures was taken to bring the headquarters, formations and military units to the highest levels of combat readiness and reach the designated areas, and to relocate aviation units to operational airfields.
The tested troops and forces took part in more than fifty exercises of various levels at thirty-five ranges and terrain areas, and seventeen sea ranges in the waters of the Black and Caspian seas.
The main purpose of the sudden check was to assess the ability of military authorities to ensure military security in the South-West of the Russian Federation, where threats of a terrorist nature persist, as well as to determine the degree of readiness of troops for the upcoming strategic command and staff exercise in the South of Russia.
The results of the training activities will be considered before allowing formations and military units of the Armed Forces to participate in the strategic command and staff exercise "Caucasus-2020".
In total, about 150,000 military personnel, about 400 aircraft, over 26,000 weapons, military and special equipment, and more than 100 ships and support vessels were involved in the sudden check of combat readiness of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
