Nuclear submarine Vepr returned to the Russian Navy after repair
The nuclear submarine of project 971 Vepr returned to the Russian Navy after repairs. This was announced by Deputy Defence Minister Alexei Krivoruchko.
“In the interests of the Russian Navy, one repaired cruising nuclear submarine (Project 971 Vepr) has been delivered,” he said at a Military Acceptance Day.
Alexei Krivoruchko recalled that this year the fleet also received the first serial frigate of project 22350 Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov and the nuclear submarine of project 955A Knyaz Vladimir.
“According to the development strategy of the Navy, the Borei are intended to become the only type of strategic missile submarines in the Russian fleet,” said Stepan Kelbas, commander of the 31st submarine division of the Northern Fleet.
In addition, the Navy received two new support vessels of projects 23470 and 19910. Also, 50 units of missile and mine-torpedo weapons entered the Fleet.
