The first units of the 49th combined arms army of the Southern Military District (SMD), stationed in the North Caucasus, returned to Stavropol after the successful maneuvers "Kavkaz-2020".
Military personnel of the signals division on wheeled vehicles made a march of over 900 km, arrived at the permanent deployment point, where they will be engaged in servicing weapons, military equipment and preparing for the new training period.
Upon arrival, the command of the unit organized a solemn meeting of the participants of the exercise with performances by artists of the garrison ensemble, military orchestra and children's performances.
Along the way, they will work out issues of conducting air defense, fighting sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the mock enemy, as well as comprehensive support for the march.
During the exercise, the actions of the command staff of formations in planning and conducting offensive and defensive actions of subordinate units in a desert area, controlling forces and means using modern automated systems and communications were evaluated.
The exercise at the Ashuluk training ground involved automated mobile units APE-5, the P-260T "Redut-2US" telecommunications complex, which established stable radio communication to transmitting radio stations, medium-power communication stations R-160-05, which act as repeaters, and a digital communication complex that was used to create closed channels, as well as to provide video broadcasts and cellular communications.
In total, more than 8 thousand military personnel and about 1.5 thousand units of military and special equipment of the combined arms formation took part in the exercise.
