Servicemen of the Southern Military District - participants of the "Friendship-2020" exercise, familiarized themselves with the training facilities of the special forces of the Pakistani Armed Forces
Servicemen of a special force company of the 49th combined arms army of the Southern Military District (SMD) familiarized themselves with the facilities of the training and material base of the training ground for special forces of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the village of Tarbela within the framework of the joint Russian-Pakistani military exercise "Friendship-2020".
The entire base consisting of than 50 training points will be involved in the exercise.
They visited a climbing wall, a sports stadium, a martial arts hall, an obstacle course including a moat, a three-meter wall, a rope ladder, a suspension bridge, etc., as well as a psychological training zone.
The Russian servicemen examined the mountain-sports complex of the centre, which in structure resembles the Russian Scout's Path. The length of the complex is up to 1 km, it includes about 30 different obstacles, including stone walls, underground passages and fragments of city structures.
The joint Russian-Pakistani exercise Friendship 2020 will be held from 5 to 21 November 2020. From the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, more than 70 soldiers of the special purpose unit of the 49th SMD combined arms army, stationed in Stavropol, are involved in the exercise.
The exercise is aimed to strengthen military cooperation of the two countries, and it is held in accordance with international military cooperation.

The joint Russian-Pakistani military exercise Friendship has been held since 2016, in which military personnel from the Russian Armed Forces take part in motorized rifle units and special purpose units of SMD stationed in Karachay-Cherkess and Stavropol.
In 2020, the fifth joint Russian-Pakistani exercise Friendship-2020 will take place, the first exercise was held in Pakistan. This is the third joint military exercise to be held in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and two more were held on the territory of SMD-in the Kuban and in the mountainous area of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.
The exercises involve over 150 troops from the two countries.
