Under the protection of a detachment of warships of the Baltic Fleet, two merchant ships under the flags of foreign states will be conducted through the Gulf of Aden to the Arabian Sea.
Earlier, the crews of the corvette Stoyky and the tanker Kola successfully completed the escort of the vessel Yesenia under the Russian flag along the security corridor from the Arabian Sea through the Gulf of Aden to the designated point of the Red Sea on a route of more than 1,000 nautical miles.
On board the ships of the detachment are marine units, which are trained taking into account the experience of fighting pirates.
A detachment of ships of the Baltic Fleet consisting of the corvette Stoyky, the medium sea tanker Kola and the sea tug Yakov Grebelsky went to sea from the permanent base (Baltiysk) to perform the planned tasks of the long-distance campaign on December 16, 2020.
