About 25 thousand explosive objects were neutralized by Russian sappers in Nagorno-Karabakh
The personnel of the humanitarian demining company of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue work to clean the area from explosive devices in Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the mine clearance in the area of the settlement of Mardakert, Russian sappers neutralized more than 30 152-mm high-explosive artillery shells.
In total, since November 23, 2020, 1,548 hectares of territory, 484 km of roads, 1,524 housing structures, including 30 socially significant objects, have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, 24,994 explosive objects have been found and neutralized.
The detected explosive devices were removed and destroyed at the specially equipped Ballidzha training ground. Ammunition that could not be evacuated was destroyed on site with all the necessary safety measures in place for blasting operations.
In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.
With the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, the restoration of vital engineering communications continues in the areas affected by the war.
