The Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation announces the scheduled control checks in the Armed Forces during the winter training period
The Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, reported on the scheduled control checks in the Armed Forces during the winter training period.
“In accordance with the training plan of the Armed Forces, control checks have begun in the military command and control bodies, formations and military units,” the head of the military department said during a conference held today at the National Centre for State Defence Control of the Russian Federation.
Sergei Shoigu added that the troops went to the training grounds to conduct tactical, special and two-way exercises.
In total, 4,048 exercises of various scales will be held during April, including 812 two-way exercises, at 101 training grounds and 520 facilities of the training and material base.
The exercises take place on the territory of all military districts and the Northern Fleet, as well as in the Far North, the Kuril Islands and Kamchatka.
All arms and services of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are subject to check. At the same time, in the Eastern Military District, within the framework of these measures, a check is being carried out by a commission of the General Staff.
The main draws of combat training will be held at the Tsugol and Sergeevsky training grounds of the Eastern Military District.
In the rest of the military districts and in the Northern Fleet, checks are carried out under the control of the commanders of the troops (forces).
