Russian sappers are clearing farmland on the outskirts of the village of Pirjamal in Nagorno-Karabakh and continue to destroy the discovered ammunition at the Ballydzha training ground
The sapper groups of the humanitarian demining company of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue to clear the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh from mines and explosive objects.
Currently, Russian servicemen are actively searching for explosive objects on the outskirts of the village of Pirjamal, located in the Askeran region of Nagorno-Karabakh. Here, on the territory of farmland, during the fighting there were military positions.
Until today, local residents could not resume agricultural work. During the work on the territory of the former military positions, the area was completely cleared by the sappers of the humanitarian demining unit of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
In total, since November 23, 2020, the military personnel of the humanitarian demining unit have cleared 2,051 hectares of territory, 625 kilometers of roads, 1,721 buildings, including 30 socially significant objects, and found and neutralized 25,600 explosive objects.
Explosive objects discovered by the sappers are removed and destroyed at the specially equipped Ballydzha training ground. Ammunition that cannot be evacuated is destroyed on the spot with all necessary safety measures provided during blasting operations.
In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.
To monitor the ceasefire and military operations, a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is being deployed in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
The basis of the Russian peacekeeping contingent consists of units of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District.
