Chiefs of Staff of the CIS Armed Forces to discuss joint exercise of the Joint Air Defence System
The chiefs of the general staffs of the armed forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) during the meeting will consider the holding of a joint exercise of the joint air defence system.
“During today's meeting, we will discuss the military-political situation in the Commonwealth space, consider the issues of building aerospace defence, conducting a joint exercise of the CIS joint air defence system and further developing multilateral military cooperation, as well as exchange experience in countering the spread of coronavirus infection,” said the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, opening the meeting.
The meeting is taking place today in St. Petersburg. The meeting is attended by military delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as delegations from the CIS Executive Committee and the Secretariat of the CIS Council of defenсe ministers.
