Three Competitions of International Army Games kick off in China
The opening ceremony of the competitions of the International Army Games 2021 was held in Korla, at the training centre of the Land Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA). This year, three competitions are being held in the People's Republic of China: Clear Sky, Suvorov Attack and Safe Environment.
The Russian teams of the Suvorov Attack and Clear Sky competitions are the only ones among the participants who will compete using their own domestic military hardware. For this purpose, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and Typhoon-Air Defence combat vehicles were delivered to China. The Russian team of Safe Environment competition will operate the equipment provided by China.
In total, 17 teams from 7 states (the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the People's Republic of China) arrived at the PLA Land Forces training centre to participate in International Army Games 2021.
International Army Games will be held from August 22 to September 4 on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan). In total, more than 5 thousand military personnel, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 competitions of the Games 2021.
