The troops of the Western Military District after the JSE Zapad-2021 return to the points of permanent deployment from the Mulino training ground and from the Republic of Belarus
The troops of the Western Military District, who took part in the joint strategic Russian-Belarusian exercise Zapad-2021, continue to return to their permanent locations in the Voronezh, Moscow, Kursk, Ivanovo, Belgorod, Tver, Smolensk, Tambov and Bryansk regions after completing tasks in the Republic of Belarus and at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Military units make marches to railway stations, where they load onto railway platforms. About five military echelons have already arrived at their destinations, where specialists have been engaged in servicing weapons and military equipment. Several more echelons with equipment and personnel are on the way.
In total, up to 200,000 personnel, about 80 planes and helicopters, up to 760 units of military equipment, including 290 tanks, 240 guns, multiple rocket launchers and mortars, as well as up to 15 ships took part in the Zapad-2021 exercise on the territory of Russia and Belarus. The maximum number of personnel involved in the exercise of military units falling under the Vienna Document of 2011 in the territory of the Russian Federation did not exceed 6,400 military personnel.
The final return of the military authorities and troops to the points of permanent deployment is planned until mid-October of this year.
