The representative of Tajikistan stated the relevance of the Peace Mission exercise against the background of the aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan

The deputy commander of the Land Forces for combat Training of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel Fatkhullo Idoyatullozoda, at the opening ceremony of the joint exercise of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries Peace Mission-2021 in the Orenburg region, stated the relevance of the exercise against the background of the situation in Afghanistan.

"In the light of the destabilization of the situation on our southern borders, taking into account the recent events in Afghanistan, where the entire republic has come under the control of the Taliban, the topic and purpose of this exercise, in my opinion, are very relevant. I am sure that the joint exercise will be held in the spirit of full mutual understanding and will become an important stage in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, and will also contribute to further rapprochement of fraternal peoples for the sake of regional security," said Colonel Fatkhullo Idoyatullozoda, Deputy Commander of the Land Forces for Combat Training of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The representative of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan thanked the command of the Central Military District on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic for the organization of accommodation, a warm and cordial welcome.

Earlier it was reported that the joint anti-terrorist command and staff exercise of the armed forces of the SCO countries Peace Mission-2021 will be held on September 20-24 at the Donguz training ground in the Orenburg region, for the first time the military contingent of Belarus will take part in it.

The implementation of combat training tasks during the exercise Peace Mission-2021 will be carried out taking into account the development of the military and political situation in the Central Asian region. The units will work out ways to counter new tactics used by international terrorist organizations, combat unmanned aerial vehicles, and prevent terrorist attacks using chemical and biological weapons.
