In the Moscow region, the WMD tankers destroyed a column of armored vehicles of a mock enemy as part of a battalion tactical exercise
In the Moscow region, at the Golovenki training ground, servicemen of the Kantemirov tank division of the guards tank red banner army of the Western Military District (WMD), as part of a battalion tactical exercise, conducted live firing from T-80U tanks using the tank carousel method of increased rate of fire.
According to the plan of the exercise, the tankers were in ambush, their task was to destroy a column of military equipment of a mock enemy on the march. As the enemy approached within striking distance, the crews began to destroy his manpower and armored vehicles with high-explosive and armor-piercing shells.
As part of the exercise, the tankers performed more than 300 shots from 125-mm guns of T-80U tanks. A feature of shooting by the method of tank carousel is the paired, alternate firing of tanks. This allows continuous fire and compensates for the recharge time.
In total, more than 400 servicemen took part in the battalion tactical exercise, over 150 units of weapons, military and special equipment of the Kantemirovsky tank division of the WMD tank formation were involved.
