The servicemen of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China aim to expand cooperation through joint strategic exercises and patrols
At a videoconference held between the Russian Defence Minister, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu and the head of the Chinese military department, Colonel-General Wei Fenghe, the parties agreed to increase cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries through strategic military exercises and joint patrols.
The heads of the military departments stressed the inviolability of friendship and the strength of ties between Russia and China. They confirmed their readiness to implement the agreements reached at the highest level and expand contacts between the ministries of defence of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.
The main topic of the talks was summing up the results of joint sea and air patrols in the Asia-Pacific region this year.
This year, Russian-Chinese military cooperation in all areas has been steadily deepening. The interaction of the armed forces of the two states in the field of organizing combat training events has developed noticeably.
The negotiations were also attended by: on the Russian side, the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces Sergei Surovikin, on the Chinese side – the Commander of the Navy Admiral Dong Jun and the Commander of the Air Force Colonel-General Chang Dingqiu.
