Deputy Defence Minister Colonel General Aleksandr Fomin meets with Niger’s Minister of National Defence
Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation Colonel General Aleksandr Fomin and Colonel General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov met in a working session with Niger’s Minister of National Defence General Salifou Modi.
Positive trends in the growth of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation were observed during the discussions, and potential areas of cooperation were underlined.
The sides decided to step up their combined action to stabilise the situation in the region and acknowledged the significance of growing Russia-Niger relations in the defence sector.
In addition, emphasis was placed on the Russian Ministry of Defence’s willingness to maintain positive communication with its allies in Niger in order to improve combat readiness of the Republic of Niger's Armed Forces.
