Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu inspects fulfilment of state defence order at defence industry enterprises in Altai region

The head of the enterprise reported to Sergei Shoigu that since 2022 the factory has increased the output by 3.5 times. The production base is being actively developed, new sections are being launched and additional production facilities are being built. Last year, about 300 new machines and equipment were installed at various production sites.

In the past two years, the number of employees has doubled and now exceeds 1,600 people. Meanwhile, the employees' salaries increased by 30% and now are higher than the average salary in Altai region.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu was briefed that in 2023 the company opened its own licensed training centre, focused on the needs of the enterprise, in which by the end of this year about 200 specialists will be trained.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu was also informed that since 2023 the ammunition components factory has increased the output by 3 times. This was achieved through ongoing projects to upgrade production lines with modern high-tech equipment, as well as to expand production capacities.

The head of the enterprise noted that a large-scale construction of new production and storage facilities began at the plant.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu set the task to accelerate construction of new production sites.

'Take the design bureau to the construction site. Check on the expertise. You have to agree on ways to accelerate the work. We have been conducting expertise at three sites here for three months', the head of the Russian Defence Ministry demanded.

Following the results of the work, the Russian Defence Minister held a working meeting with the participation of the leadership of the Russian Defence Ministry, representatives of the relevant military authorities, and heads of enterprises.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that as part of the implementation of the President's decree, the enterprises have started work on technical rearming of production lines in practically all directions of armament and ammunition manufacturing.

'It concerns both military hardware and all the necessary components to produce ammunition. For both missile and tube artillery and aviation ammunition,' the Russian Defence Minister stressed.

Sergei Shoigu also noted that large-scale reconstruction was taking place at the enterprises.

'The Presidential Decree, which was issued last July, is being implemented. The funding has been fully committed and there are no funding issues. The enterprises have acquired the equipment necessary for carrying out technical rearmament. Construction materials have been acquired at all facilities. The only thing that prevents us from carrying out the tasks in a timely and planned manner are design-related issues,' the Russian Defence Minister stressed.

The Russian Defence Minister demanded that the delay in developing the project documents should be addressed as soon as possible, and that those organisations that caused the delay in constructing the new facilities should be held liable.

'In general, enterprises fulfil, and in certain directions overwhelm the 2024 program. The most important thing is that we are able to continue fulfilling the state defence order in the 4 quarter of 2024 and future years at a sufficient pace and volume,' General of the Army Sergei Shoigu stated.
