Bulletin of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on the deployment of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone (November 16, 2020)
According to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation from November 10, 2020, the Russian peacekeeping forces continue the deployment in the Nagorno-Karabakh territory.
In the areas of the peacekeeping operation along the contact line of the sides, the deployment of observation posts of the Russian peacekeeping forces has been completed, which are monitoring the situation around the clock.
Control over the observance of the ceasefire regime is carried out by peacekeeping units at nine observation posts in the southern zone of responsibility and nine more in the northern.
In the Lachin corridor (along the road Zabukh - Lysogorsky state farm - Zarysly) there are seven temporary observation posts that ensure the passage of military columns of peacekeeping units.
The ceasefire is observed along the entire contact line.
On November 15, 2020, 475 refugees returned to Nagorno-Karabakh from the territory of the Republic of Armenia, accompanied by patrols of the Russian peacekeeping forces and military police. In total, from November 14, 2020, 725 people who had previously left the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh due to hostilities returned to their places of residence.
In accordance with the agreements reached in Nagorno-Karabakh, the exchange of bodies of the dead continues. It is being carried out under the coordination of the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Demining and complete cleaning of the area from explosive objects in the Lachin corridor are being carried out. Today 1 km of Stepanakert-Goris road has been examined and cleared, 27 pieces of broken and damaged vehicles were removed from the carriageway and roadsides.
The transfer of personnel, military equipment and material property of the peacekeeping contingent by the Russian military transport aircraft Il-76, An-124 continues.
A total of 140 flights have been performed since November 10, 2020. Over the past day, 20 flights were carried out.
The headquarters of the Russian contingent of peacekeeping forces has been deployed in Stepanakert, from the command post of which the peacekeeping operation is controlled.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defenсe of the Russian Federation organized the formation of a Joint Centre for Humanitarian Response on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The interaction was organized with the local administration on the Centre's activities.
To carry out peacekeeping tasks, prevent possible incidents and ensure the security of Russian military personnel, continuous interaction with the general staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia is carried out through direct communication channels.
