Deputy Defenсe Minister of the Russian Federation discussed with the Minister of Defenсe of Azerbaijan the work of the monitoring center
Deputy Defenсe Minister of Russia Colonel General Alexander Fomin held a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani Defenсe Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov. The meeting was held on the territory of the Joint Russian-Turkish Centre for Control over the Ceasefire and All Military Operations in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, opened today in the area of the Kiyamaddinli settlement (Aghdam region of Azerbaijan).
“Indeed, the opening of a joint Russian-Turkish centre on the territory of Azerbaijan is a very important event. I would like to express my confidence that the servicemen of the Republic of Turkey and the Russian Federation, of course, with the support of Azerbaijan, will do their utmost to strengthen peace and stability in the region,” Alexander Fomin said.
In turn, Azerbaijani Defence Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov noted that the opening of the Joint Monitoring Centre is a landmark event. “Turkish and Russian servicemen will feel comfortable and will calmly resolve the issues they face. And we will make every effort so that the center can fully fulfill the tasks that it faces,” he said.
