Russian Defence Ministry reports on repelling AFU attempt to invade Russian territory in Kursk region (2 November 2024)

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the operation to neutralise an enemy group, which broke into the territory of Kursk region.

The Sever Group of Forces continued offensive actions in which the units of 21st, 22nd, 41st, and 115th mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 82nd and 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, 112th, and 129th territorial defence brigades of the AFU suffered losses near Daryino, Leonidovo, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, and Plyokhovo.  
 
The Group's units repelled four enemy counter-attacks in the direction of Kamyshovka and Novoivanovka, and thwarted AFU attempts to attack in the direction of Daryino and Leonidovo. The AFU losses amounted to up to 30 people killed and wounded; seven AFU servicemen surrendered.
 
Army aviation and artillery inflicted losses on the clusters of manpower and hardware of 21st, 41st, 47th, and 61st mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th, 82nd, and 95th air assault brigades, 36th Marine Brigade, 1st Special Operations Brigade, 112th and 129th territorial defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and 17th National Guard Brigade of Ukraine near Aleksandriya, Viktorovka, Guyevo, Daryino, Zelyony Shlyakh, Kazachaya Loknya, Kolmakov, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Martynovka, Makhnovka, Mirny, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novoya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Plyokhovo, and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.
 
Operational-Tactical Aviation and Missile Troops hit concentration areas in the Sumy region and reserves of 21st, 41st, 61st, 115th mechanised brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 95th Air Assault Brigade as well as 129th Territorial Defence Brigade of the AFU close to Basovka, Belovody, Vodolagi, Zhuravka, Loknya, Miropolye, Pavlovka, and Khoten.
 
During the day, the AFU losses were over 250 troops, an armoured fighting vehicle as well as an artillery gun, a mortar, and three motor vehicles. Seven AFU servicemen surrendered.
 
Since the beginning of hostilities in Kursk region, the AFU losses were more than 29,100 troops, 180 tanks, 101 infantry fighting vehicles, 106 armoured personnel carriers, 1,063 armoured fighting vehicles, 780 motor vehicles, 255 artillery guns, 40 MLRS launchers, including 11 of HIMARS and six of MLRS made by the USA, ten anti-aircraft missile launchers, seven transport-loading vehicles, 58 EW stations, 12 counter-battery warfare radars, four AD radars, 25 units of engineering vehicles and other materiel, 13 counterobstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle, five armoured recovery vehicles, and one command post vehicle.
 
The operation to neutralise the AFU units is in progress.
