True Friend competition of the Airborne Troops ends in Pskov
In the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation, True Friend competition for specialists in service dog breeding of the Airborne Troops, held as part of the International Army Games-2021, has come to an end.
The competition was attended by representatives of airborne assault formations from Pskov and Ulyanovsk, as well as a separate special-purpose guards unit of the Airborne Troops from Kubinka near Moscow.
During the four stages of the competition, the participants and their pets competed in overcoming a 300-meter obstacle course, arresting the offender, inspecting him, escorting and defending against the offender's attack. There were also competitions in dog-biathlon, where the participants had to overcome a distance of 3 thousand meters with two firing lines, where dog handlers fired from a small-bore rifle from a prone and standing position. In addition, during the Sharp Shooter exercise, the participants competed in shooting from an AK-74M assault rifle from various positions.
According to the results of the competition, the hosts, the team of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation, won the victory at the Airborne Troops stage.
The winning team will take part in the all-army stage of True Friend competition, which will be held at the end of May in Dmitrov, near Moscow.
