At the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground, military attaches of foreign states demonstrated joint actions of units of the armed forces of Russia and Belarus

Representatives of the military-diplomatic corps at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground observed the joint actions of units of the 1st tank army, the Airborne Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, the regional group of troops of the Western Operational Command and the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

The practical drawing of the actions of the troops took place within the framework of the joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of Russia and Belarus Zapad-2021.

The actions of the units were observed by representatives of the military and diplomatic corps accredited in Belarus from 18 countries, including 7 countries belonging to the NATO bloc, as well as representatives of the CSTO and SCO member states, delegations of the CIS Executive Committee and the Secretariat of the CIS Council of Defence Ministers, delegations of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

During the practical actions of the troops, the units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus fought with the advanced detachments of the mock enemy and inflicted losses on the mock enemy, gaining time to prepare the defence on the subsequent lines. Then a joint grouping of artillery consisting of divisions of self-propelled artillery installations Msta-S, MLRS Tornado-G, Hurricane and airborne artillery destroyed artillery and mortar batteries, manpower, enemy firepower and its control points.

The repulse of the enemy's air attack was carried out sequentially, in the general air defence system, by the forces and means of air defence of combined-arms formations and military units, as well as by a mixed tactical group for combating unmanned aerial vehicles as part of air defence, EW and NBCP units.

The cover of the defending units was carried out by aviation from the position of duty in the air as part of Mi-24 helicopters of the air force and air defence forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Ka-52 helicopters of the army aviation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. To detect and suppress the air defence system of a mock enemy, a group of four Su-34 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces was involved. The squadron destroyed the enemy's air defence systems at the starting positions, inflicting a fire defeat with high-explosive fragmentation bombs.

After repelling the attacks of the mock enemy, the military units of the 1st tank army and units of the Armed Forces of Belarus went on the attack. Tank and motorized rifle units participated in the counterattack, including the latest tanks that are in service with the troops of the Union State T-72B3, T-80U, rocket troops and artillery, air defence units, operational-tactical and army aviation. By rapid actions, they inflicted maximum defeat on the mock enemy and restored the original position of the troops.
